Fight pushed back a month
Tybura's scheduled heavyweight matchup against Tai Tuivasa has been moved to the main event of UFC Vegas 87 on March 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
This was a fight originally scheduled for UFC 298 in February, so Tybura loses the opportunity to fight in front of a capacity arena crowd on a pay-per-view card. The main-event slot is not a bad consolation, however, as he'll get a chance to earn a top-10 spot in the rankings against a dangerous power puncher in Tuivasa. The announcement did not specify whether it would be a five-round fight, as is typical in headline bouts, but the extra rounds would presumably benefit Tybura. He was originally slated to enter this matchup as approximately a (+105) betting underdog.

Tuivasa fight scheduled
Tybura will compete against Tai Tuivasa in a heavyweight fight at UFC 298 in Anaheim on Feb. 17, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Following a quick knockout at the hands of interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall, Tybura will look to get back on track by defeating a fellow heavyweight also down on his luck. Tuivasa brings dangerous knockout power to his fight with Tybura but has been finished in each of his last three bouts.

Predictably crushed by Tom Aspinall
Tybura lost to Tom Aspinall via TKO (punches) at 1:13 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Tybura entered with seven wins in his last eight bouts, so he definitely deserved this opportunity. However, as a ridiculous +400 underdog, largest on the entire card, it never felt like he had a chance of emerging victorious. Tybura was out of sorts from the very start. He landed zero offense of his own and didn't handle anything coming back his way from Aspinall well. It was only going to get worse had referee Marc Goddard not pulled the plug. Tybura is a perfectly competent heavyweight and has massive value for a company which holds an event most every week, but there's clearly a gap between him and the top guys in the division.

Aspinall fight scheduled
Tybura will fight Tom Aspinall in a heavyweight bout at UFC London on July 22, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Tybura will be the man selected to fight Aspinall after his injury layoff. Defeating the Brit would boost Tybur to the UFC heavyweight rankings' upper echelon. However, Aspinall will be fighting in his home country and has only one loss across his last six fights.

Winning ways continue in Vegas
Tybura defeated Blagoy Ivanov via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Tybura fights are typically not a pleasant viewing experience, and this one was no exception. That said, he typically wins, as he did here. Facing an opponent in Ivanov that possesses legendary durability, Tybura did just enough to keep Ivanov off balance the entire fight. The two men fought to even terms the first ten minutes before Tybura landed a takedown early in Round 3 which led to 4:55 worth of control time and locked up the decision. Marcin is now 37 years of age and has no real history of defeating high-end competition, but he's 7-1 in his past eight fights dating back to February 2020, with a unanimous decision setback to Alexander Volkov being the only loss during that span. The UFC might as well push Tybura until it all falls apart.
